The Tait Memorial Trust returns to St John’s Smith Square for their 5th annual Winter Prom. Now in its 24th year, the Trust supports young Australian performing artists who come to the UK to complete their advanced studies in music, dance and composition. We are thrilled that Jessica Cottis has agreed to conduct and musically direct the Tait Chamber Orchestra, of young Australian musicians and has selected the programme to showcase our award winners but also to acknowledge the tyranny of distance and the longing many of us feel for the wide open spaces of Australia. Proudly supported by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia we invite you to join us as we explore our memories of Summer.

The Australian Ballet returns to London this summer for the first time since 2008, and we are delighted to announce a unique opportunity for Tait Trust Supporters: to meet the Artistic Director and then to watch the company in their final dress rehearsal at the London Coliseum.
At 12.30pm Australian prima ballerina Leanne Benjamin AM OBE and Patron of the Tait Trust will talk to David McAllister AO, the Artistic Director of the Australian Ballet, about the company and preparations for the tour in a private event arranged exclusively for Tait Trust supporters. David will then take questions from our Friends. This will be followed at 1.30pm by the final stage rehearsal of renowned Australian choreographer Graeme Murphy’s hugely popular production of Swan Lake, again open only to our supporters.
